Panel Speakers:

Julie Burnett, Vice President, Offshore Operations, Safeco Insurance
Ms. Burnett has lived in India for the last ten months working directly with Safeco’s Offshore Providers and is in the process of establishing a permanent team in India who will oversee their work.  She also currently heads Safeco’s Outsourcing Practice. Over the last year and a half Safeco has expanded it’s outsourcing effort from very small scale IT maintenance work to a full range of ITO and BPO (IT and Business Process Outsourcing), and is now venturing into KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing).  All of Safeco’s offshore efforts to date have been with India providers.  Julie has been with Safeco in various capacities since August of 1988.  Prior to her current position, Julie was responsible for field operations nationwide, including personal and commercial underwriting, premium audit and risk control services.  She has also served Safeco as a Marketing Representative, a Commercial Lines Sales specialist, AVP for Safeco Business Insurance, and in Sales with responsibility for the 5 Region Field Sales teams.

Patty Mosberger, Director of Service Partner Management, T-Mobile USA

Ms. Mosberger is responsible for the management of 16 Outsourced Service Partners in 33 locations in the US, Canada, Latin America, the Philippines and South Africa.  Patty’s current focus is implementing company initiatives that are related to the decision to send work offshore.  Initiative activities began in November, 2007 and have grown to the point where T-Mobile currently supports and manages a headcount of approximately 7,000.  Patty has been with T-Mobile for 3.5 years.  Prior to T-Mobile, she was the Executive Director of Operations for TeleTech, an outsourced Service Partner for over 9 years where she was responsible for domestic as well as a large international customer that was handled in the Philippines.  Prior to joining the TeleTech team, Patty enjoyed a successful 22 years at UPS.  Having worked as both an outsourcer and a customer Patty has a few war stories to share.


Vivek Sekhar, Principal, Chase Hub Consulting
Vivek C Sekhar is an engineer who worked for many years in a Software Technology Park in Bangalore, India before he started a consulting firm in 1995 that specializes in incubation and techno-management.  Vivek’s focus in India was to support western technology companies that were setting up operations in Bangalore. Recently, Vivek expanded his firm to Washington to assist companies explore and harness the potential for their companies by using India’s technology resources. He supports companies build successful set-up, infrastructure and operation in India across a variety of industries.  He also runs the BFIT (Bangalore Forum of Information Technology) an informal association of CEOs and decision makers who discuss best practices and issues impacting industry.
