U.S. Export Controls and Recent Developments

At The offices of Garvey Schubert Barer Second & Seneca Building 1191 Second Avenue, 18th Floor

In the Cold War, life was easy. But in our post 9/11, politically correct, financially strained world, where we don’t know where our next enemy is coming from, it’s a bit more complicated. U.S. firms face increasing scrutiny from U.S. Federal Agencies in their export transactions, and increasing penalties if they get it wrong. The biggest of companies become ensnared. And as smaller companies grow, they become all the more visible on the government’s radar.
Join us for insightful views from two leading Seattle practitioners. First will be a practical “how to” on U.S. export controls, followed by a broader discussion of recent international trade legislation.
