Established in 1946, the World Trade Club is one of the oldest as well as one of the largest international trade organizations in Washington. Our mission is to provide a forum for the business community to:
- Acquire practical skills for international business -- marketing, finance, and import/export procedures.
- Give briefings on international trade issues.
- Expand the understanding of business practices of U.S. trading partners.
- Develop long-term strategic contacts to advance international business.
World Trade Club meetings provide an excellent opportunity to learn while networking with others in the trade community. The Club has monthly meetings which feature noted experts who make presentations on international trade topics. The Club also organizes skill sessions and seminars to provide in-depth information on very specific issues of interest to our members.
Each Spring, we host the Governor's Trader of the Year Awards Reception in conjuntion with Washington State Trade Week. The Awards are presented by Washington State's Governor and recognize a firm or individual that has demonstrated outstanding achievements in international trade.
Our annual dinner is held every Fall, and features an interesting keynote speaker. (Click here for information on last year's Fall Dinner)
In addition, the World Trade Club publishes the World Trader, a quarterly newsletter. We are also converting our hardcopy directory into an on-line membership directory (a members only directory). The club also sponsors the WTC Education Program and the WTC Education Fund.
We invite interested world traders to become members, and to join us at our next event. Reservations and payment in advance are required. There is an additional charge for nonmembers and at-door payments, which are accepted on a space-available basis. Call the World Trade Club office at (206) 686-3736. Our staff and Board of Directors welcome your inquires. |
